Job Description

Report to: Supply Chain Manager

Department: Supply Chain

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

1. Set up KPIs and strategic planning for engineering 

 

  • Set up KPIs and strategic planning for engineering section to ensure the operations are in line with the company's objectives and the department's KPIs. To translate these targets to the day to day work of the section, clearly indicating priorities and milestones, ensuring that section’s financial budgets & targets for efficiencies, product losses and quality are achieved
  • Define maintenance policies for the brewery, the policy should cover the electrical, mechanical, automation, instrumentation and site & building maintenance activities.
  • Be responsible for maintenance cycle in the brewery ( preparation of maintenance plans, execution of maintenance plans, revise maintenance plans), within agreed budget, to ensure availability of equipment to meet production requirements. Make sure maintenance programs are maintained and CMMS is being used to support these programs.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, control and implement general maintenance of plant, offices and civil construction, within agreed budgets, to maintain in good order at all times.

2. Technical support for production 

  • Provide the production management with technical support on electrical, automation and utilities engineering and mechanical engineering issues to ensure production quality, efficiency and continuity.
  • Manage the safe operations and maintenance of the utilities installation at optimum cost to meet production and legal requirements and to improve continuously the energy consumption in the brewery.
  • Manage technical projects, within agreed budgets, inclusive of capacity extension to plant innovation / modification / revamp and ensuring the expenses is being controlled within the approved budget.

3. Spare part management 

  • Be responsible for spare part management (ordering of spare parts on time, control of stock levels)

4. Monitoring of the HACCP and TPM activities

  • Ensure that engineering work and mechanical and project engineering work is carried out in accordance with, safety, health environment, HACCP and legal requirements and at lowest overall cost.
  • Be responsible for the implementation and progress of TPM activities within section, realisation of sustainable savings through TPM activities (being the PM pillar leader to reduce breakdowns at minimum costs and member of FI pillar to reduce energy consumption).

5. Employee Development 

  • Guide, develop and support subordinates in order to meet the targets.
    • Coach and assess subordinates, carry out personal development and appraisal meetings, drawing up and implementing suitable training programs.
    • motivating subordinates through interest in their work and problems that they experience with that work
    • Be able to analyse what type of support each team member requires and to be able to adapt leadership style to suit.
    • Address subordinates concerning good and bad behaviour. To correct subordinates in mistakes and not completing agreed actions

 

Job Requirement

  • University degree in electrical, mechanical, electronic engineering field
  • Three (3) years working experience at similar position in a manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge in utilities generation and distribution
  • Good working knowledge of IT & software applications
  • Possess good human relations, interpersonal and good leadership skills
  • Analytical with good problem solving skills
  • Self driven and result oriented
  • Dedicated and skilled trainer / coach
  • Highly technical competencies
  • Conversant with spoken and written English (specially technical jargons)
